Baking Class

This year, I had the opportunity to be the teaching assistant for the baking class in my program. My major at Syracuse Univeristy is Hospitality & Food management, where I get to take all these cool culinary classes and make great tasting food. I also have the opportunity to start our very own Hospitality Management Enterprise, a student run organisation for people who share the same passion as us, where it be Food & Beverage, Hotel & Lodging or Nutrition.

Our students get hands-on experience when it comes to baking. Almost everything made in our kitchen is from scratch, apart from puff pastry because that takes one day to make due to the refrigeration time needed. Other than that, our students will learn how to bake goods such as cookies, bread, puff pastry, danishes etc and they will learn the basic skill of cake decoration.

I took this baking class last year and I had a lot of fun. Our baking class is going to collaborate with the student organisation that I have started and we are going to put together bake sales, thanksgiving pie sales and holiday bake sales. We will also put together a birthday cake business next semester so that we can benefit the general population of Syracuse University as well as provide opportunities for our students. We can also raise money through these events to help the local community.

Here are some pictures of what our baking class have done last year:
